Fidel Castro is worth an estimated
$900,000,000. And that's not counting what cannot be directly
attributed to him. The Cuban President claims a personal vow of
poverty. |
|
Castro is ranked 7th on Forbes
magazine's list of the wealthiest heads-of state. The list consists
of kings, queens, sheiks and dictators. |
|
Castro's fortune was reportedly
accumulated through his expertise in running several state-owned
companies. It is possible that he also collects kickbacks from
cigars, rum, and weaponry that is shipped and marketed through his
tightly-controlled communist Cuba. |
|
Castro has been nearly twice as
successful as England's Queen Elizabeth II at accumulating wealth.
She is worth $500 million even though she was born into generations
of royal plunderers, land grabbers, and taxers of the poor. |
|
Castro's wealth is less than those
in the "Billionaires Club". Forbes' Billionaires Club is topped off
by Abdullan Bin Addulaziz, King of Saudi Arabia. |
|
Also, Castro accumulated his
fortune in a manner different from most very wealthy heads-of state.
Most of the world's billionaire heads-of state had to do brainy
tasks including being born into the correct family, or torturing,
imprisoning and killing their enemies, or selling that black oily
stuff to Westerners who pay excessively for the privilege of
extracting it from under their feet. |
