  Forget About It

September 10, 2001: "It has now been eight years and there has not been another bombing in New York or any where else in the US."
The words above articulate the unwise arrogance of many politicians and regular Americans by the time 9/10/2001 arrived.
The February 26, 1993, bombing of the World Trade Center caused six deaths, 1042 injuries, nearly $600 million in property damage, and a major, multi-agency investigation.
September 11, 2001, brought a fresh attitude.
The September 11, 2001, was a full-fledged attack upon the United States at the World Trade Center. Pentagon, and a still unknown number of other planned locations. Because the attackers were not officially sponsored by a foreign military, a declaration of war was not conceivable by the United States.
Today people speak of the fact that it has been nearly five years and there has not been another attack upon the United States.
The United States retaliated in October, 2001, and has been defending itself preemptively around the world since. This preemptive work has deposed the Taliban regime and the dictator Saddam, and killed planner and worker-level fanatical terrorists in several nations who have admitted their desire to destroy Western civilization. Their remnant followers are more intent, more skilled and better armed.
Does anyone believe that there will not be another attack on US soil?
Do people understand that the terrorists must be preemptively defeated?
Terrorists of the 21st century have patience beyond Western civilization's imagination.
Terrorists of the 21st century have long-term dream-like objectives for the destruction of Western civilization. They have very little else to do while plotting... other than to raise money by selling oil to their intended victims.
Their intended victims diddle away much of their effort in divisive arguments over details.
