Some wise people realize that
being somewhat overweight is not really bad. Not as horrific as so
many shrill-sounding lecturers have lectured over recent decades. |

A survey by NPD
Group of 1,900 people representing America found they reject the
negative attitude toward overweight. It is being replaced with
reasonable acceptance. Over a 20-year period, the percentage of
Americans who felt overweight people were less attractive than
sticks dropped from 55% to 24%. |

This is good
news for the roughly two-thirds -- the majority -- of all Americans
who are constructed using an overweight format. |

The survey also
confirmed that body image remains an obsession. Fortunately for the
majority that negative attitude has waned since the late 1980s and
1990s. |
